first time i read Servant of the Empire imlad Send a noteboard - 27/01/2010 06:19:42 PM
I thought the Night of Knives was going to last forever; like the first time I read "Dragonbone Chair" it felt like Simon's journey underground took forever.

And it was cool to see Milamber's little hissy-fit at the Games from a different point of view.
I didn't feel that way about the Jenny Wurtz books though talking about the Tsurani side of the story. I only got about halfway through the first book and gave it up because it seemed dark and hopeless. What did you think of her books? (I am assuming you read them.)

Yes, they're rather a lot darker, but the plot's better, the writing's better, and the story carries through all three of them, which I like. And at the end there's a real sense of satisfaction at how things turn out.

The really horrible stuff doesn't last all that long.
Death to the Regressives of the GOP and the TeaParty. No mercy for Conservatives. Burn them all at the stake for the hateful satanists they are.
