Re: I was most irritated by the ironic names

I mean, isn't it an incredible coincidence that someone with the name of Remus Lupin got bitten by a werewolf and himself became one? Or that someone with the last name of Malfoy is generally expected to be a villain? The list is long indeed of names that are ironic. I would have preferred names that weren't ironic.
Lupus, Lupo, Lupin(e), etc... are actually very common last names in werewolf fiction. So common, in fact, that as soon as you find out their name in a TV show, movie or comic book, you can just nod and say "Yup, werewolf." The only exception I've ever found to this is Deputy Lupo on "Eureka" who has yet to wolf out in three seasons.
As for the other names that you find ironic, I actually appreciate the appropriateness of the naming when it comes to entertainment aimed at young adults. It's sort of cute and amusing.

It does seem logical that the series gets more teenager-oriented as Harry grows older.

I should have put "debate" in quotes. It's about four sentences long.

Exactly - it's not as obvious if you're a kid, then it seems clever and it's fun to decode.
