My thought then is why are they irredeemable? Is it of their own choice? If yes, then that would qualify as the second category (refuses redemption). If no, they are irredeemable as influenced by an outside source/somthing not within their control then there is a difference.
Right. I think Voldemort falls into the second category. As, theologically, I think all the "damned" do.
