Other than that, basically the reasons you gave. Some people would be upset, it would create a big uproar, and it just seems so... troublesome. Not really even worth the effort.


I've tried it thrice, a very, very long time ago, and each time it didn't take. Not that I resent it, but it was SO EMBARASSING trying to explain it to the person/s who "caught" me. And all that effort for nothing!


...whenever I am already depressed, I seek to do all I can to stay that way, and engage is all sorts of self-destructive thought processes. I'm too pragmatic to actually do anything self-destructive, but I'm good at keeping myself locked in nearly suicidal depression, and a part of me finds perverse pleasure in this.



Most of all, what helps is probably just not thinking about anything like this, and focusing on other matters, whatever they may be. That's what I try doing anyway, and other than frequent bouts of depression and a general apathy about most things, I seem to be okay lol. Not sure how well any of this answered your questions... But your post made me want to share something of my feelings.

I think, sometimes, it's good that you share. I don't know about you but I feel less alone, and less of some sort of freak or a failure when I know that it's not just me.

Of course, I like the "I fought depression and I won" stories even more, except that they sound so bleeding tiring.

Anyway. Thanks for sharing, both the good stuff, and the bad.
