Maybe duty, but I don't think that's how I mean it- most people have some sort of goal (kids, marriage, more money, whatever), and in the move toward that goal, they may not stop to think about things. They just move forward because that's what life is for them. I'm not a depressed person, and I even have days when I do not want to get up or do anything, mostly because I don't have anything to do, and I know it.

I think I'm going to try to volunteer. I don't have enough of my own goals, or those that I do have sometimes scare me into hiding from them, so I may try to make it about other people.

This may in no way pertain to your situation, but that's how it is for me.


What might you volunteer to do? I mean, there are so many ways in which you can non-profitingly help people...
