Of course one doesn't live to meditate, but by meditating properly you can get the insight into what you DO live to do, and what makes you happy, and be happy as a result. It's a means to an end, not an end in itself. The way you framed this whole post leads me to infer that if you aren't happy, you could get better insight on why through meditation. That's it.


I dislike having to wander through someone's well-intentioned way to help me - because that kind of help always at some point gets down to the nitty-gritties which I haven't even touched upon here.

I was feeling down, and I wanted to see that other people have things in their life they're not down about.

What I did not need was to be told it's my fault because I'm doing it wrong. That one is already on the table as an option. Believe me, I'm looking into it.

To change the subject, what sort of meditation do you do? I tend to stick with a general cleansing meditation, that in the parlance opens my chakras and cleans them out, and tends to end up putting me very much in touch with my body, and via the individual moments of physical sensation with my mental clutchings, which I have to release for a sort period to be able to move on...

Are you doing Transcendental Meditation? Based on your immediate stated result, it sounds like it might be.
