In my case, having a good time with my friends and family, being good at the job I like, and enjoying books/music with a splash of good food and nice weather. With coffee and cheesecake for dessert. Or pie. This is really quite boring and unoriginal, but it does make me happy. For some people, maybe basejumping suits them better. I guess you have to find some things like that and try to find a little time every day or every so often to enjoy them.

About the "trying" and "doing", I don't know much about you and I'm sorry if I'm off, but I am assuming you have clinical depression? It's often really difficult for people who aren't depressed to understand what's wrong, as the person just looks "down" or tired or demotivated. And so it seems to them that they should just cheer up and get moving. But it's not necessarily that easy, and you shouldn't feel guilty about not being able to force yourself to be cheerful and peachy all the time.

That being said, this video also makes me happy :)
