Does the term "Tories" refer to your Conservative party, or another one?


A reference to the 'good old days' of Tories and Whigs. The modern Conservative Party is descended, more or less, from the old Tory Party.

The two are so synonymous that it's easy to forget other people have no idea what it means, a bit like GOP = Republicans being known to Americans automatically but other people not knowing what that means
