Dying is pretty certainly worse; it doesn't improve anything, but does eliminate any chance of improvement. It's not really terrifying in a world this wearisome, but there's no rush either. Share with those who care; it makes the days better for both of you. When things start to get overwhelming concentrate on the very next thing you need to do, don't look ahead to the mountain impatiently awaiting your attention, and do keep moving, because even slow progress is better than none at all. Problems don't go away by being ignored, but they're also generally not as bad as long term depression can make them seem, so just put one foot in front of the other and try not to think about how far remains to travel. Keep moving and you'll get there in the end, not to a place where everything is sunshine and rainbows, but one where life provides its own reminders of why it's worthwhile.
