I can only assume the Tory offer of a referendum on AV remains on the table. We'll find out the full details tomorrow to see if that's been upped to full PR.


Going on what has been reported in the Guardian, it is a betrayal by a dead party. They have given up on true electoral reform in what they hope is a sop to their voters - I doubt I'm a lone in knowing it isn't.

The question is if AV is enough to carry the LibDem voters, and if the LibDems getting multiple other policies on many other fronts through is worth the price of losing the chance of full PR, given that full PR may have not been achievable in any case with either Labour or the Tories.


For me it is not enough. I think that is the case for a lot of other voters as well, I will not vote Lib Dem while this leadership is still in charge and I think that goes for quite a lot more I'm sure (hope!!) there will be a new party on the left to fill the gap in their place.
But a referendum on AV? That is nothing - the Tory press and backers will kill it dead... and it is a pretty poor excuse for reform.
