Believe me, as a 5-point calvinist there is nothing in me that longs for crediting the convinced, but doesn't Paul say: "For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God..." (Rom 8:15-16)

It is in Paul all over the place: "We know... therefor [we can be sure that]..." all building up to give security, building it on the promises of God. Not being convinced is, acc to Paul, inconcistent with the facts we know to be true thanks to the revealed truth by the Holy Spirit.

*Disclaimer, I do however believe that true believers can have honest doubts about their salvation and all, but I simply claim they don't have to*

I'm just saying it's one thing to share what we've received and quite another to try and convert people, because WE don't do the conversion; it's not about US. ;) I can be a faithful witness, and certainly try, but whether or not someone accepts freely offered Grace is up to them and the One offering it, not me.
