In the very first paragraph, "blind faith that the investment would be worth it". A bit further, "borrowing decisions based more on emotion than reason". Then near the end of the first page, they're asking the mother how she could've been so irresponsible, and the daughter admits that it's not her mother's fault, but her own.

It's true that the article doesn't really touch the topic of how certain college degrees are unlikely to land you a well-paying job, but apart from that, I don't see why it's so particularly stupid.
