I've lived in TX for all but two years of a life that will span 36 next month. When no one outside of TX (and Rangers fans) had even heard of THAT George Bush I watched Karl Rove elect him Governor by getting a third party group to call Ann Richards a closet lesbian packing state agencies with the "fagenda" when she wasn't doing every drug you can think of in the Governors Mansion. Don't tell ME about Karl Rove.
Sure, a lot of folks on the far right are manipulating and milking the hell out of this. Now a lot of folks on the far right are, too. Idiots and opportunists. However, that does not preclude the builders of this mosque from ALSO being manipulative, idiotic, or both. It's still America and all three of them have the right to their idiocy. Thank God I'm not President so I don't have to take fire from every side as every talking empty head in the country lays into me for the sake of ratings and their own political agenda. It begins to look like even the Democratic Congress is going to try to blame their upcoming drubbing on Obamas comments about the mosque (yet probably the greatest blame Obama bears for flipping the House is that he let Congressional Dems run the show on healthcare and they imploded it. )
