but I like Danny's preaching because it tends to show what I feel Christianity was really intended to mean and should mean. I don't feel that Christianity should be about sin, and feel it should be about love, whether for God, Jesus, others, whatever. Too often I hear Christianity abused to fuel hate and it's nice to hear it represented otherwise. Not to say that I think most Christians are full of hate. It's just what I end up HEARING the most, so I like hearing otherwise.
And yes, I know I'm far from an expert on Christianity. This is just how I see it.
And yes, I know I'm far from an expert on Christianity. This is just how I see it.
If sin wasn't an issue, then why did Jesus have to come to earth and die? If sin wasn't something to be contemplated, acknowledged, and repented from, how come Jesus was bruised, beaten, and hung on the cross? You may want to focus on just the happy go-lucky feelings of the situation, but that is hardly the only aspect that needs to be studied. Saying that sin is wrong isn't hate. Much as Dannymac noted that many preachers (apparently) preach about a sin that few of their congregation commits, but miss the ones that they are guilty of too.
It should be noted that the wages of sin is death. It is because Jesus loved us that he came to take away our sins.
