You're not 12, huh? Then act like an adult and own your choices. No one here owes you dental care. If you come whining about it in a public forum and then excoriate the nation because we don't want to pay for it for you, then people are allowed to have an opinion on the matter. You don't want people treating you like a child? Then grow the fuck up and don't act like one.

And yes, I do consider dental care an essential. Just like food and shelter. Why don't you ask everyone else to pay for those for you, too. I'm sure there are any number of things you'd rather spend your money on. I personally make sure I have the means to pay for essentials. I don't waste every extra penny on fun things and then wonder why I can't pay for what I need. And I certainly don't then go asking people to pay for me. You're like the fucking fabled grasshopper and you seem to have no shame about it, either.

And if you really work as much as you claim, then you must piss money away at an astounding rate.


But I think you're going beyond the line. I can understand your stance on the "right" to medical/insurance/etc, but I do not feel that means you should pick apart his personal life. Whether politics let us admit it or not, he has a very valid point that dental is prohibitively expensive, and in a civilized society there should probably be easier ways of allowing people to meet that need w/o (ie) forgoing AC in Texas or condemning the life of a pet.

If you disagree with that basic point, fine, disagree away. But attacking his personal choices is not appropriate.
