a simple hormonal misdevelopment for whatever reason during prenatal growth can cause ovaries to develop into testes. This testosterone causes the reproductive tract not to develop.

This same exact thing happens in cattle. If a female is born twin to a male, the testosterone from the developing male causes her tract not to develop.

I also think calling them "Testes" is a simplification. A more accurate term would likely be "abnormally developed ovaries".

I think a DNA test would be the best test. XX chromosome=female. period. end.
