I was just pointing out that they weren't really all that violent, considering. In fact they were, for about 95% of the time, perfectly peaceful protests.


This detracts from their protestness?
Tom is saying they are not "real" protests. I ask what he is using as a base line. You reply by listing riots.

And proper protests result in the Mayor being forced to walk through London bareheaded, or somesuch.
