Depends on the wedding. I prefer small and fun.
What's wrong with large and fun?
I am planning one currently, and it's a pain. I already have to "uninvite" people who just assume they get to go.
God that sounds horrible. Having to uninvite people... Why are they assuming they can just show up? How are you letting them know?
My cousin's in Wisconsin - it was family oriented and outside in the summer. Small and fun. It was almost more of a formal picnic feel than a wedding.
Family oriented means that it was mostly family, or that it was for people of all ages?
I really don't want drama. We're talking no more than 25 people, a pretty dress, a couple flowers and a notary public. And I want to take people out to a nice place to eat/drink afterwards - it should work because it will be only people I actually like.
That sounds nice. And not having to entertain tedious people will probably greatly increase your enjoyment of the event as well. Although I get the impression that lots of weddings are barely fun for the people actually getting married.

If you don't want drama, don't invite family. Seriously, listen to the voice of experience here.

How can you *not* invite family? Family is all that matters. *NM*

That entirely depends on how you define family.

In your opinion. For me, as an example, it is the people I care for and respect that matter.
