You will likely have most of your needs compensated for. Additionally, the bigger sports like football and basketball will have food available if they are practicing or studying over a meal time. Any competition time over meals definitely will have food provided.

But yah, I see your point. I think you'd still get in some bad situations if you started paying the athletes due to abuse on both the athlete's side and the university's. It would be better to simply allow them to make some cash on the side training kids on the weekends or something like that.
