I thought it more illustrative that way though. To translate: Not yet, but tonight I get back the test exam from my curent norskkurs, which will tell me whether I will be ready to take the level two state language exam in January (I suspect the answer will be no.) It has been frustrating and surprising to learn how unwilling folks are to hire me when I hardly speak their language at all, despite being fluent in mine, but those are the breaks and that is the risk I took when I moved here before learning the language. I have progressed and continue doing so, but those from whom I have sought employment clearly do not yet think me employable. I did have a guy who interviewed me for a trucking company tell me to call him back after I finish the class and get my license, and since I have done the latter, if things go better than I expect tonight I will be making that call. I am already convinced I did better on the test than I expected before taking it; hopefully I will pleasantly surprise myself again. That I can elaborate far more in English than Norwegian tells me I still have some ways to go, but, as noted above, I have been improving myself in other ways (some already mentioned) and do intend to make a NSSP update when I have more time.
