You'd think a thread about the death of Kim Jong-Il, by any reasonable definition himself a militant atheist,
This would be the Kim Jong-il whose official birth was heralded by a swallow, the appearance of a double rainbow over the mountain where he was claimed to be born and a new star in the skies?
The one who encouraged ancestor worship as applied to his family?
Nah, not a militant atheist by most reasonable definitions. Just someone who attempted to manipulate belief to further his own ends and to stamp out rival beliefs.

Kim Jong-il is dead. Would you become a fervent believer?

For atheism to be a tenable position, one must assume that millions lie about their experiences.
