The video may be counterproductive to what we're trying to do in Afghanistan vis-à-vis "hearts and minds", and may have been intentionally leaked by elements in the Defense Department or intelligence community who want to sink any attempts to "negotiate" with the Taliban. Certainly, it may have a negative impact on our ability to conduct the war, and so it may be a bad thing for that reason.
However, I really can't bring myself to feel that Taliban deserve any respect after we've killed them. Chop them up, use them to feed animals, burn them, piss on them, shit on them, stick their heads on spikes - it really doesn't matter. They are guerrilla fighters that we are trying to kill, and once we've killed them I really don't care what we do to or with the bodies.
