If you're a patient reader and you don't mind a slow plot, you might like it. There's definitely a lot of interesting stuff about how the future might plausibly develop. The problem is that it's just not very interesting to actually experience that development from the characters' point of view. I've read (and enjoyed) the wikipedia pages for all three books, I just. . .you know, don't want to read the books themselves. :P

Anyway. They're interesting and worth a try, but you will NEVER be on the edge of your seat, or feel like you can't put the book down. And I suppose I'm kind of looking for that when I sit down to read for pleasure.
