If you are an honest journalist without a political agenda and you are going to go on and on about the extreme positions of one republican senatorial nominee, while ignoring the president’s own extreme position, then you should at least give more than an a rare passing mention of the fact the democrats spent money to get him nominated and the republicans spent money trying to stop him. Those are important points if you want to use his nomination to paint a narrative of the parties. Well that is assuming of course you are interested in a paining an honest narrative.
I would agree with you here, but for one question: what is the president's extreme position?
Also, what is confusing me is that I have seen this mentioned repeatedly, so I don't understand why you are saying it is not talked about? I even heard them discussing it on NPR this morning, and it wasn't in a hushed-up-let's-move-on kinda way. They specifically pointed out that McCaskill had been trying to get him into a position to run against, because he was the only way she had a chance. They were laughing about her comments of ... eh, support or whatever you want to call what she's been saying about this latest thing, because of how obvious and ridiculous it is for her to be the only person saying less mean things.
