PolitiFact does a pretty good job. If Romney can cite them debunking one of Obamas claims one month then dismiss them debunking one of his the next month they are reliable enough for campaigns to trust, and objective enough not to play favorites.

Yet the beauty of facts is they are inherently objective; people can and do deny what is staring them in the face, but no one also staring at it takes them seriously.
