If you've prepared for months to argue against certain things, and then those things change again (or things that weren't said anywhere pop up), how do you respond? I kept thinking, "hey, I didn't know he thought that! That's not a bad idea." And I bet Obama was having a similar reaction. Seems like a good way to win a debate.

The only surprise is it took so long, and maybe Obama was convinced Romney would never tack back to the center (he has been drooling over running against the Ryan plan ever since Romney picked his VP.) Still, it should have been childs play to remind us all Romney has spent the last five years condemning the welfare state he embraced last night. He does NOT believe those things, has not suddenly embraced everything he has harshly attacked since being re-elected governor of MA, but no one who ignored the campaign until last night realizes that.
