by that you mean he isn't the Romney the left tried to pretend he was and now they are mad random thoughts Send a noteboard - 05/10/2012 12:53:00 AM
The left has once again started smoking their own stash and convinced themselves that Romney was far right but the reality is he is bit of moderate and that is why he has problems with his base. I know the left believes they are going to get a lot of mileage out of the fact that he has pivoted to the center since the primary that is pretty much SOP in politics and Obama did it himself and he has moved much further from his primary stance than Romney has. To be fair he was so far left ealry on he really had no other direction to move in.

He is the man who continued the Bush tax policies he blames for crashing the economy and that he ran hard against during his primary. His healthcare system is the Hillary system he attacked as being too much government interference and said he wanted to only require minors to buy insurance.

When is Obama going to explain how the primary candidate who said he wanted to get past the petty politics of personal attacks now makes character attacks not only the corner stone of his reelection but pretty much all four corner stones and all the ones in between as well. Mr Hope and Change and a New Way of doing politics has become Mr Slander and Defame who is now running on Fear and Doubt.

When are we going to see the Obama he said his polices would put coal fired plants out of business or who blamed racism for the poor response during Katrina? Where is the Obama who would shutdown Gitmo and end the patriot act? Gitmo is open, Obama loves coal, he followed the Bush plan in Iraq (badly I might add), tried to copy the surge he ran against during his primary (again poorly) and domestic warrantless wire taps are up.

If the left wants to talk policy that would be great but I really wish they would stop this stupid whiny defense that Romney won’t wear the monster customer they made for him. They seem to believe they are entitled to it. The left needs to get past talking points and simpleminded populist slogans if they want to be taken seriously but mostly they need to stop getting butt hurt just because everyone else won’t drink the kool-aid. Instead we since all the "smart" people on the left demand that Obama move even further from what made him appealing and become even nastier and more personal. I guess if you want a martyr that is good plan but it really isn’t going to sway the middle. After four years in office he should have something more to run on then trying to make the other guy look scary and as much as that may sell the base it is a loser in the middle.
