China of course is bigger with North Korea but unlike Russia in Europe they seem have more in common with as far as goals go and they don't want to see North Korea starting a war any more than we do. Russia on the other hand is directly opposed to our efforts to build a missile defense and is fighting us for influence in the former Soviet Bloc states.

Look I agree you could make the argument that either one is our biggest geopolitical threat but that point of view undermines the argument that Romney was being extreme by picking one side and instead makes the opinion that is extreme the true extreme position. Sort of like the position that opposing gay marriage is an extreme position despite the fact that is a 50-50 issue in this country is the true extreme position.
