I have to agree with that one. Most people come out in order to be more honest with their family.

I appreciate his attempt and hope it was truly a learning experience, but as an experiment it was sunk from the beginning. He'd have had a more accurate experience if he'd come out about a real secret of his.
And, really, he cried about being called a "fag" in passing? I'm going to call B.S. on that one. There's no way he felt the true weight of the word himself; and if it were an empathetic reaction, what, has he never heard someone being called that before? Has his innocence been so thoroughly ripped away? Pffft. Yeah, the word hurts when it is meant to, and sometimes even when it is not, simply because it so emphasizes the privileged status of the person who can be so outspoken in their attitude without worrying about incurring the wrath and retribution of those around them. I have a hard time believing it hurt him, who is no less privileged, so much that his tears were from shock, rather than being summoned in a fit of self-righteous anger.
But then, look at me being all judgey. Maybe he did cry, and I'm just being a bitter jerk.

Sorry, that is just an attempted role-reversal; objecting to hatred is not the "real hatred."

In addition, the bible doesn't forbid it. The bible is not a monolithic work, but an anthology.

I think he has a good point. It just shouldn't be generalized so far as he is doing.

Wrong. I am talking about labels and what they are used for.

And on the other hand, various "logical justifications" tend to boil down to one thing:

We use "bigot" like Christians use "sinner."
