Unless you want some heating effect too, they're still a touch pricey but you can get ones that give off virtually nothing but the frequencies for photosynthesis, so lower electric bill (unless you need a higher temp anyway) and you can probably even ratchet up the luminosity to take advantage of the higher CO2 concentrations in your house.

LED Grow Bulbs, LED Grow Lamps, googles them up. They tend to come from different manufacturers then the guys who focus on house lighting and sell more indoor/greenhouse and hydroponic gardening accessories, it's still a bit niche even by LED light standards, less plug and play more think and customize. Small niche but big enthusiastic smart crowd so there's a lot of blogs and youtube videos discussing the pros and cons you can review before picking a supplier and lamp.

Yeah, my view too, probably still premature for most applications, still a bit of pricey toy for garden enthusiasts, pot growers, and NASA. I actually stuck that on my mental pro/con list for marijuana legalization, legalize it and it might hurt the LED grow lamp market in developing economy of scale
