You could never have a serious debate on question time

It's an hour long panel show with a maniac presenter, questions from the audience and 4 parties all trying to grapple for the middle ground. None of them specialising in immigartion laws.
The one time anyone (Jack Straw) tried to mention an actual policy on migration and he was pilloried by the conservative leader who said things needed "tightened up" without actually presenting an alternative. If the points system for visas is so bad why could the conservative MP not come up with a different solution.
One Labour MP named a policy and tried to explain it, and came out in the general opinion as second worst to the racist. In such a poorly structured program a debate was impossible.

It's funny how equality means they have to let anti-equality groups on *NM*

I think it's a good call from the BBC, and I do intend to watch it.

Sorry, we're 20 years behind the rest of Europe because we have a system that makes it hard...

At which point did it show he was anywhere near capable of being a serious politician

At which point do you think any rational human being thought he was a serious politician?

I think the Radio 1 interview a few weeks back did a better job of exposing their lunacy.

It will be interesting to see any polls done, to see the actual impact.
