It makes people question their priorities random thoughts Send a noteboard - 18/01/2010 08:17:16 PM
Healthcare may be a long term economic issue but we have some serious short term economic issues that should have gotten attention first. Instead of making fixing the economy top priority they decided to try and push through a ton of liberal wish list stuff.

If they had been smart they would have focused the first year on economy and ignored the social issues for now, which is what this healthcare bill really is since it designed to give healthcare to the uninsured instead of actually reforming the system. A strong economic push would have given them the momentum and built the trust they needed to push their big social programs. Instead of banking reform and programs to spur the economy we got pork spending disguised as stimulus. Instead of post partisan we got blame Bush, attack Fox and ridicule the tea party protesters. Instead of fresh start on foreign policy we get snubs to England, capitulations to Russia and bowing to petty princes. No Obama wasted his chance and the vote in Mass for a republican is a vote against far left single party politics.
