we are seriously getting the democracy that we as Americans deserve.
26 percent of Americans know that it takes 60 votes to overcome a Senate filibuster
32 percent know that Senate GOPers voted unanimously against the Democrats' health care plan

I was having a cigar at my buddy's cigar store the night of the Mass. race when this guy comes in and asks if anybody knew the results (it was way too early to know). He then states that the race is so huge because if the Republican guy wins then the Democrats lose their majority in the Senate (he even might have said Congress but I can't remember for sure). He then proceeds to inform us that the Democrats won't be able to pass their health care bill (I highly doubt he knew there were two bills).
That left me to explain to my friend afterward that the guy was a bit mixed up and that the Democrats would still fully control Congress and that they would lose a Super Majority and not the majority control of the Senate. I also had to explain to him that it is likely that some kind of health care will still probably pass but in a much more reduced level and why.
But hey, that guy sure was excited that the Democrats were going to go down in flames and the country would be "saved"!
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...
