Either way they were excluding some people based on their religious beliefs - if it is discriminatory now then it was also discriminatory before not to cater to muslims. It is a silly argument because it boils down to them saying they are fine with discrimination, as long as it is someone else being discriminated against.


I have to disagree, there is a difference. Before, they were religiously neutral, now they are not. If you make no special arrangements for any particular faith, you cannot be called discriminatory. But if you accommodate one religion like this, you are discriminating against those whose religious views are incompatible with the favoured group.

I am not saying the company doesn't have the right to do this, I'm just pointing out this is one thing people could see as discrimination. And I don't think it's an obvious sign of prejudice and bigotry to think so, like Aisha thought it was.
