Now how do these stats go when sorting the regular way, i.e. by number of golds first, then silvers, then bronze?
And I think one obsolete state that should be included is the Kalmar Union of Sweden (including Finland), Norway and Denmark. After looking it up on wikipedia I see that Iceland should also be included.

After all, later on sweden held the baltic states too (and some small pieces of germany), but lost control over parts of norway... Now, the big question here is where are the norwegian medalists from?
