Hmm ... that's scary ... Roonas Send a noteboard - 05/06/2012 09:21:42 AM
The advantages are real and proven; we just have to figure out the right implementation. We (as a collective society) have, over the long run, usually done a pretty good job with that. :)

I realize you said quite a bit there, and I am not trying to parse your words or misquote you through omission ... but: While the advantages are real and proven, the disadvantages and lack of understanding on the average users part of what Cloud computing will inevitably become will cause alot of bumps in that proverbial road to this enlightened cloud computing universe ...

In other words - once people realize the inherent nature in something like this type of venture their instincts kick in. The crack-pots, well, they crack-the-pots and won't join in. The privacy nuts will never put their files in a big ol' cloud ... the gov't haters will fear that if they save their rant/manifesto that the gov't will automatically receive copies of it ... the hippies, well - we all know why hippies won't join the cloud (too busy with their heads up in one) ...

Then comes the hassle of who "owns" it, who "bills" for it, and inevitably, who do I call to complain when I cannot "access" it. :D

I guess what I am saying is - keep dreaming your dream and I'll keep buying Lotto tickets ... we'll see whose dream comes true first.
