Ah... In that case, I don't know a thing about either

But I can at least imagine just how poorly Final Fantasy 1 has aged. Chrono Trigger is about the extent of how far back with jrpgs I'll go. Maybe FFVI, since I've heard so many great things about it, but beyond that the unplayability barrier really starts to make itself known, at least for me.
The SNES was a good console though, from what I understand. Never had it myself, as I started with a Sega Genesis, and then jumped to a PS1 shortly thereafter, but thankfully there are PC emulators to fall back on.

Giving old games a try years after their initial release?

Psychonauts was worth it. The art direction helped it to age pretty gracefully, too. *NM*

Who do you have in your party? As FT says, Jaheira can resurrect, and fairly early on too.

Since my computer is about six years out of date, I do nothing else, basically.

There's an xkcd for most situations geeks are likely to encounter in their lives, honestly.

I suck at playing evil, too, but you can have Viconia in a neutral party.

That's another case of the original game becoming almost unplayable after the expansion.
