I've seen plenty of other times it happened with other heroes just standing on the ground.
What's your opinion when someone completely ignores physics but gives a (totally bullshit) explanation for it? I'm thinking about how the Culture series uses zero-point energy.
Are you a purist, or will you accept apologetic pseudoscience tendered as an explanation for violating the standard model?
I will accept their pseudoscience to a degree and still enjoy a show/book/movie. There are things we don't understand that could possibly...maybe...happen. Take artificial gravity or FTL travel. We don't think now it is possible based on our understanding of physics, but it could be, perhaps. I love Hamilton's "Commonwealth" world/tech, but I really don't think most of that is possible, ever. But, it might be and at least isn't absolutely impossible, mostly. So, I love reading about it.
But I know beyond all doubt that being really strong doesn't negate physics.
