I wasn't talking about if Europeans have a negative view of America but how concerned we should be about their opinion of us. The left in America is obsessed with how we are viewed especially in Germany, France, and the UK. As far as I can tell the average European has never down any concern over how they are viewed in the US and out in no way affects their decision process. My comments were not really about Europeans so much as Americans and their need to be liked.

If that is untrue please show me. But since we both know it is true my point is if Europe doesn't take our opinion of them into consideration why should we be concerned with their opinion of us? Why the average European has so much emotional investment in US politics is irrelevant.
