You can say 'no it doesn't', but it would help if you then provided arguments. Legolas Send a noteboard - 05/06/2017 10:43:36 AM

View original postChina and India's commitment is tied to GDP. As the Wall Street Journal noted, "China won’t even begin reducing emissions until 2030 and in the next five years it will use more coal."

Yes, and? I said that they hurt everybody's economy, not that everybody immediately starts reducing emissions. The US and other Western countries are in a very different position from China, it would be ridiculous to expect them to have the same reduction targets. I refer you back to what I was writing in my previous post about how obvious it is that the Chinese are definitely 'hurting their economy' as well with their approach to emission reduction.
View original postNot only that, but the article goes on to note that some countries simply sidestep their obligations, but we can't due to our legal culture:

I read that, yes. It's not sidestepping when the treaty itself says that the goals are non-binding.
View original postNot only that, but many countries in the "developing world" receive subsidies and credits under the Paris Treaty. So no, it doesn't hurt everyone's economy. A combination of the way the treaty is written and the way our country works ensures that signing it would hurt us, and disproportionately so.

Have you seen serious calculations comparing the estimated impact on every country of its Paris treaty targets? I'd be interested to see them. Frankly I don't know if the American targets are indeed disproportionate compared to those of other countries, they might be. I do know that such a comparison would be rather more complex than the points you've raised so far, though.
