Believe it or not there are poor whites, there are more poor whites that's any other race. Modern liberal social justice thinks we should give a college slot to a less qualified wealthy black applicant instead of the poor white applicant simply based on race. You can kid your self with the idea that you are only assisting poor blacks vs rich whites but that is simply not true. Even if they are both poor or both rich why give preference? If the goal was equity it would be need based not race based.
