Serenity is overrated. I'm partial to good old outrage.
Just about the only good thing about being my age, other than the discounts, is that now I have an excuse for being the same miserable dick I have always been. I'm old. That's why I'm ranting. Yeah, that's it.
So you like being a thunderstorm? As opposed to serenity which is associated with fair weather? (Literally fair weather is probably how we get the English word Serenity from a French predecessor word which has its own predecessor from Latin)
Should I put a vinyl record on the machine and play Flight of the Valkyries? Will that music choice make Mookie happy, or will that make him angry? After all when I think Flight of the Valkyries I think escalating crescendos that I associate with thunderstorms.
And if Mookie is getting happy when he is angry, is it really what he wants to feel like? Is it the anger or the happiness that comes from the anger as an afterproduct?
Is the goal of Mookie to change his disgust into anger and his anger into joy? Is this not really the method of becoming serene? From an 1) internal introspective proprioceptive feeling of disgust to 2) external action with anger to 3) internal emotion emotional state of joy?
