There are certain things that kids said when I was growing up, like "that's so gay", that I would intentionally avoid saying today because I don't think it's a derogatory comment and treating it that way is insulting to gay people.

At the same time, let's be clear about why all of these supposedly homosexual remarks are being made: it's more about forced sexual shaming and power relationships than about consensual homosexuality. In my mind, that makes it even worse than casual homophobia, bad as that is, because it's essentially condoning rape or rape-like situations. This is not the language of Chelsea; it's the language of prison bitches. It's about forced (as opposed to consensual) humiliation and displays of power.

Exactly. The connotation is that Trump is either prostituting himself, or is, in fact, Putin's bitch. Both connote a coercive power imbalance, and represent a pretty toxic view.

In the hypersensitive "pound#me too" world, it's amazing what people can get away with in that respect. Can you imagine someone saying that about women? Just try saying Nikki Haley "blows and rims Trump on a daily basis" - though sadly, because she's conservative maybe the Left will give even that a pass.

This happened. That piece of shit Micheal Wolff implied she was having an affair with Trump. He was pretty broadly criticized for it, though.
