See, this whole time you've been suppressing your alternate path synergy. By duplicating the individual efforts of the rest of the team, you are reinforcing the established path to success. If, by some chance, you do things a different way, then you've identified an alternate path to accomplish a task.

This can be examined later for resource saving potentials.
