I'm on board with a Red-Flag law that follows Due Process. As stated in the article, I can be ok with a law that is predictive in nature. We have several (sex offender registry...as sex offenders are disproportionately prone to engage in the same/similar behavior; those on parole not allowed to associate with former/similar situations; etc).
The extremity on both sides doesn't help. One doesn't want to talk or have studies in any way, and the other side is essentially asking me to trust that the government will always look out for my interests first...and I won't need to take care of myself. Neither sits well with me.
