Okay, but then I don't think we're really talking about the same thing here. Legolas Send a noteboard - 24/01/2020 10:09:36 PM

When I said 'outlandish', I was referring to the various ideas that have been thrown out there in the Dem primary that would represent radical changes to American society, also compared to recent Democrat platforms: single-payer health care, free tuition, Warren's wealth tax, AOC's 'Green New Deal', reparations for slavery. That kind of stuff. To be fair, 'outlandish' may not have been the right word, because some of those ideas aren't all that inherently crazy and indeed currently exist in other Western democracies, but they certainly are radical departures from the Democratic mainstream. And they certainly are one or several bridges too far for many or most current Democratic members of Congress.

Merely stating that in what was one of the easiest states in the country to purchase guns, this new legislation was passed within days of the Democrats finally getting control of both the executive and legislative branches.

Don't think for a second this lesson has been lost on other red state voters.

I'm sure red state voters have noticed, yes, but I'm not sure why that should particularly concern Democrats, provided that said voters have received correct information about what legislation was passed. If they were fed conspiracy theories by extreme conservative media channels about how the Dems in Virginia are going to confiscate everybody's guns... then yes, that would be a more serious problem, but it would not be the Democrats' fault.
