The same variant could have arisen inside Donald Trump's ass and it would have the same effect. This isn't the China Flu, and there's no Indian variant to it.


Figure 3 – This image shows how influenza viruses are named. The name starts with the virus type, followed by the place the virus was isolated, followed by the virus strain number, the year isolated, and finally, the virus subtype.

Example given is A / Sydney / 05 / 97 / H3N2


Did we really decide to stop naming flu viruses this way? CDC says 'no'. (Unless you have some information that this guidance is outdated.)

Did the collectively woke among us decide we should stop including the isolation location in the common name? I guess so. Nothing about the common name needs a scientific purpose, but if y'all need to be coddled, we can do that. Let's just be honest about what's happening.
