I though Senators were supposed to deliberate and think and vote for the good of the country. Not take a poll and vote according to the majority opinion. If the latter is all they're supposed to do, modern technol
ogy makes them utterly superfluous. We can just poll each state on the issues, and whatever position gets the majority gets 2 votes.

If not, if as a representative of his state who got the votes to, ostensibly, exercise his judgement, he actually thinks before he votes, he's as susceptible to bias based on his personal fortunes as anyone else, and therefore pointing that out is a very normal thing for the media to do.
