Some of the other comments and rumors I've seen around changes are, The Dragon can be either male or female, the soul is not tied to gender so rebirth can be either male or female, and the One Power will not be split into two halves that need to be mastered differently, i.e. surrendered to for saidar or seized and controlled for saidin.

In a Reddit discussion on leaks, it was stated that there will be a specific event that motivates Perrin down the path of deciding between peacefulness and violence. Also, less significantly, the main characters are not teenagers but in their early 20's.

All such changes, as fionwe stated, are all about the demographics.

My expectations for this series are so low that none of these revelations, true or not, changed my outlook. I assume I will hate it until proven otherwise.
