You're well familiar with the Greek and Latin roots and what they mean. Ethnic cleansing is ethnic cleansing, genocide is genocide. Words are not violence, mean looks are not rape, etc.
The Jews were ethnically cleansed from Judea by the Romans. Had that been genocide, we would not be having discussions about that today.
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
